Town’s most forgettable XI 19:03 - Apr 9 with 4933 viewsselondonblue23

Inspired by seeing mention of Ben Pringle on an earlier thread - whose Town career almost entirely passed me by - I thought I’d pick an XI of players who I can basically not remember playing for us.

A lot of loanees obviously - my only rule was they have to have actually played. So no Paddy Kenny, Jason Brown of Sean St Ledger.

A lot of these were decent Div 1/Championship players elsewhere (and some even did OK for us), but they’re the kind of players I actually have to check played for us. I’ve gone for a workmanlike, snap-your-hand-off-for-a-point 4-5-1.

Other players very much welcome. Who’s been cruelly overlooked? Any centre forward options? Macken still feels a bit obvious to me.

(Also serves as a nice reminder of how good we are at present, regardless of how the next few weeks go!)

Amir Karic, Ulrich Le Pen, Brekke-Skard, Velice Shumilokoski, Tom Adeyemi.

I've forgotten who else could make up a team. That keeper who gave up the game because nobody else was bothered - Shane Supple was it? Or the one that was sick from nerves before the match Lee Barrett was it? But clearly I remember all of these don't I?

There must be some really ordinary and forgettable players that made a good number of appearances for us probably even only a few seasons ago. Someone like Scott Fraser but again I remember him don't I? Collin Quaner?

And then, of course there are those we wish we could forget.

Of the managers that would be: Keane, Hirst, Lambert, Jewell, Keane, McCarthy, John Duncan, Keane, and most definitely that ex-Man Utd combative midfielder bloke.

If only I could forget.

EDIT: Oh, I DID forget ... Cook ... but now I have remembered! Doh!

Alex Henshall!! Players that you forget for a forgettable XI are truly the most forgettable.

Fryers one of so many full-backs. Clegg, Karbassiyoon, Wabara. Does anyone connect Liam Rosenior with us?!

Fish so bad he was memorable, for me.

This is quite a career….

Surely anyone who gets in such an XI has to pass the "Who was that bloke who..?" test.

As in: "Who was that bloke who came on loan at the same time as Ben Pringle and there was some hope he might be a decent wide midfielder with a cross and shot on him, and he was rubbish, and then one time we were playing a League One game and he was playing against us and it was almost Half Time before I said "Didn't he play for us on loan a couple of seasons ago?""

Him. What was his name? Him. He should be in the team.

Also that lanky New Zealand forward.

And that bloke who has a name that's similar to Ollie Watkins, but was so forgettable that when Ollie Watkins was called up to the England squad I said "Isn't he that one who was terrible for us on loan? What's he doing in the England squad?"

19 moves before the age of 30 spanning from Man City to Hourglass United with a total of 65 appearances. Now that's stealing a living.

All of those are memorable for one reason or another. ALB, of course, is memorable because in the 38 games he played for us we got more points per game than when any other keeper of that period was playing. If those 38 games had been over one season we would have been challenging for the play offs rather than flirting with relegation, as we were for much of that period.

Can’t remember the name so guess they qualify as forgettable. GK who played one game but was a win over Norwich.

Another Keeper who only played 3 games Phil Parkes.

So forgettable, his name is almost always spelt incorrectly, including on his Wikipedia page! It's Bozinoski.
