Has he made a lot of mistakes? He has conceded a similar number to us playing in an equally attacking side. When I have seen him he has made some good saves. McCarthy certainly used to be good.
The other question is, do we want Southampton to lose? Does them getting a result help keep them keen against Leicester and Leeds? Are they likely to win enough to catch us? All too complicated really and I doubt the change of keeper will make much difference unless something happens to McCarthy too. | |

The people who measure 'goal prevention' think he's had a horrible time tbf. He's bottom of the pile with a decent gap to next worst, on -11.5 (our Hladky's on +2.5, Hermansen +5.7, Meslier +2.0).
We don't want Southampton going level with Leeds IMO. Would be like letting venomous snakes loose in the garden to deal with a poisonous frog problem. 3 or 4 points from the next two should see them bang up for Leicester still. | | | |

Southampton fans don’t really rate him as a keeper. They’re probably better off with McCarthy.
Ironic he and Downes, who were here during the painful years, could help to prolong them.
