The funny thing is that the binman, Brian Nunn (played by the brilliant Warren Clarke RIP) and his crew are really the heroes of the tale, capturing a couple of ghastly yoofs who battered and stole valuable Purdy shotguns from a widow who Lovejoy is suspected of robbing after doing an antiques valuation as a favour to Lady Jane.
It’s a good episode, and given what a great job refuse collectors do in real life I’ve always been a little puzzled why our friends up the road should denigrate them. The Lovejoy episode certainly doesn’t. |  | | |
