Herman's swan dive 07:31 - May 10 with 1006 viewsbluelagos

Just noticed Stewart got the last touch, wonder if he was brave enough to claim it?

Was it is swan dive or a swallow dive?

It was Mark Burchilll, and he was credited with the goal.

Led to big H referring to strikers as "greedy bastards" on the post match interview. Our players love swearing on Sky.

Part of the reason MB isn’t remembered too fondly here I think!

To be fair the keeper might well have saved it otherwise

Did Burchill also take a goal from Lewis Price? Opposition keeper came up at the end of a game and Lewis took a huge kick and was definitely going in, then Burchill, I think, tapped it in from 1 metre out in an empty net.

Nah, Burchill was only here for that one season, so wouldn’t have been him. I remember the goal you’re talking about though.

I always thought of it as a bar dive. I was in NS that season and was no too far away from Hermann when he did that. It was a brilliant moment.

Reuser scored a slammer of a free kick in that match too.

That was Westlake against Brentford in the League Cup in 2004.

That and he was awful. Only managed 7 games including sub appearances.

Yep. Andy D'Urso included the dive in his match report and the FA charged him with Improper Conduct, got fined £1500. And the goal was recredited to Mark Burchill.

Ha - thought about this goal the other day. Remembered it the same way - that he stole the tap in from Lewis Price's kick

(1 min 25)

Rewatching think defender would have got there if he hadn't
