| Well done away end… just what we needed on 20:32 - Nov 1 with 4486 views | jasondozzell | Was so glad we sang the KM song a lot today. Dara at the back and Hirsty in attack - that's that sorted then. KM appreciated it. It's so much more fun supporting the team. We still seem to have some right Berks who have joined our away support. Some who were singing the KM song no doubt the same ones who couldn't wait to shout abuse at Hirst when he made a mistake in first half. Ditto with fans who seem to have forgotten that KM plays out from the back and that sometimes Dara will keep the ball but it's deliberate as we try and bait the press. Watching Liverpool go through their sticky patch and Anfield is belting out the Arne Slot song. Positive support during tough times is what it's about. Let's keep the positivity from today going especially when we have more difficult days. Feels like real momentum has been gained. I think we can win the league. | | | |

Yet again you're calling out people you perceive as recent fans, when anyone who was there today is on 30+ points!

I suppose new is a relative term isn't it Either way, just don't understandv those screaming 'you're f**n sh** at Hirsty when he doesn't hold one ball up.

In over 55 years of supporting Ipswich, I've never once called out any of our players, and such behaviour doesn't really go on where I sit in the upper North. I suppose the problem with away games is that you don't have any control over who sits near you, and I do sometimes wonder why some people go to games if (as sometimes is the case) all they do is moan. Yes, it was fantastic to belt it out today, and hopefully it will become the norm again both during and after games.

Nor me. My relationship with the club (and to an extent football) changed when a fair few years ago I was sat towards the front of the South Stand and a woman in at least her 60s laid into Alan Lee, for not trying and not caring, Lee had good days and bad days, but wasn’t one who ever coasted, yet that old bat thought she knew better. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

My version was Kipre at the back, Hirsty in attack. Just feels better. It was great to hear some old songs have an outing today and a few new ones. Some clarification on the new Jack Clark song would he appreciated

Yorkshire Ronaldinho was sung a bit but we seem to have now settled on some Springsteen for him Can't start a fire Can't start a fire without a spark Jack Clarke's on fire Tearing the championship apart

Thanks I'd got Jack Clarks on fire Can't start a fire without Jack Clark Jack Clarks on fire Can't start a fire without Jack Clark. Sounded way to repetitive for us

I sit in the Sir Alf lower. There is a guy there who sat through all the McCarthy dross. Quite clearly ITFC means a lot to him. Screams like a teenager when we pass it around at the back. Shouts get rid. Has no perception of how McKenna wants the team to play. Makes a lot of noise. Has zero idea about football.

Agree, Hirst is also a top top chap and a great teammate from the successful promotion seasons who helped bring this club back to life and anyone who has a go at him is simply a prat trying to look cool infront of mates. He will score more than enough goals again this season and will always give his all.

Hirst was notably in the box more yesterday. I think this was because Nunez as the #10 was winning the ball back for the team much higher up the pitch, taking the pressure off Hirst ( whose role thus season, seemed to be just that for the team), and is one of the reasons why he wasnt scoring goals. You can do it all on your own! The other reason has been a lack of service to him in the box. Well hes said post match yesterday thst he and Sindre have been talking about where abd when thst ball will come into the from....result, 2 goals. Its no coincidence. George Hirst is a very underrated player in my opinion. I hope he can push on now.

It's exactly that - you've hit the nail on the head. It's performative from the morons who just want to throw their weight around. Hirst is a diamond. Works his socks off and as you say will score when he needs to..

You are right. I can’t believe so many don’t rate him and want him out of the door. One poster said that as a centre forward who scored 1 goal in 4 games wasn’t good enough. Well 24 in 57 appearances says his better than that. This season POA says 5 in 10 games. And he offers so much more than goals for the team. Even if he was a 1 in 4 striker, Darryl Murphy’s record of goals to games was far worse but nobody could say he didn’t give great service to this club. The only concern I’ve ever had with GH was physical fragility. Hirst is good player who deserves support from the crowd and silence from the keyboard boneheads. The crowd sounded good at QPR, but the away boys and girls usually are. Not been to Loftus Rd for years but have been many times. I hope they don’t mess with it too much. It’s a proper ground and a good day out.
| Well done away end… just what we needed on 11:42 - Nov 2 with 904 views | berkstractorboy | I was lucky enough to get in hospitality sat in directors area and huge amount of noise from Town fans, drowning our Rangers fans except for when they scored. We went quiet mid 1st half before scored as I think fans were as nervous as the players looked! 2nd half was awesome for pretty much the whole half helped by the 3 quick goals and the feeling we would win. Nunez and Jack Clarke songs sounded great. Eddy Ebeneezer towards the end a real highlight as was singing Super KMc song. [Post edited 2 Nov 11:46]

Some people are just odd. I was at the rugby league yesterday at Everton. There was a dust up between players and the bloke in front of me was screaming and throwing shadow punches - he must have been about 70.
