Avoid Florida in half-term would be my advice, as queues in parks will be 2 to 3 hours for big rides. If that is what you are going for of course.
Plus you'll lose a day either end due to travel
Somewhere in the Med or Canary Islands? From a safety perspective, i'd avoid Egypt and Turkey right now especially with kids. [Post edited 10 Jan 2017 20:02]

Only our advice at the moment. Even the Red Sea resorts are more susceptible, but agree safer.

Depends what you want to do. If you go to Cancun there will be loads I would think. I took my kids to Peurta Vallarta when they were young and we had a great time but stayed in the resort aside from a bit of fishing or the odd trip. That would be a bit of a trek for a week though. If you go Cancun side it's just under 11 hours but it will be scorchio, actually if you are prepared to tolerate Florida and all the Yanks then I reckon Cancun is nailed on for you. Not sure if there will be theme parks but if they are happy to find a beach and swim with wild turtles and the like then they will be fine. You will have everything on tap in an all inclusive resort and the kids can pretty much toddle off and do what they want. The service and facilities are second to none. Thompson seem to be a good bet at the moment. | |
