Some England World Cup stats.... attack attack attack ... 11:07 - Jun 13 with 574 viewsunstableblue

We progressed to the qtrs and semis in 86 and 1990; Gary Linker was our top goalscorer with 6 and 4 respectively

In 2010 and 2014 we had top scorers on 1 goal - the likes of Rooney, Sturridge and Gerrard.

Its crucial we start to play with freedom and score; Kane has to delvier. He has a very high england goals per game comapred to even Lineker.

Of note we have the 3rd youngest squad at the world cup, with only France and Nigeria younger. Perhaps this will allow us to play with freedom.

Panama of note have the oldest squad.

Tunisia's best player didn;t make it at Sunderland and was loaned to Rennes.

We should blow these teams away.

I liked an interview with Vardy, contrasting the Euros.... they went straight from their clubs to training and he feels his week off this time (in the Maldives!) has been massive - "gives you a chance to forget about everything, com back refreshed". Also this comment on the last tournament "The Euros was a low for English football, I don't think we were prepared for every eventuality. When we went a goal down to Iceland we didn't know what to do. A lot of us just expected to win. Now we know how we will play against a smaller nation who sit back, and we know what to do against the top teams"

En-gur-LAND

Poll: How many points will Town get from 5 (Wat, Boro, Hull, Cov, Hudd)?

That comment about the Iceland game is a massive indictment of Hodgson. What's weird about it is that he built his reputation on the back of leading Switzerland into a Tournament for the first time in nearly 30 years.
