What can happen when a supporter manhandles a player 16:16 - Jan 31 with 554 viewsWeWereZombies

'A Dundee United supporter who attacked an Aberdeen player during a match has been ordered to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work.

Marc Jackson assaulted Funso Ojo as he ran towards home supporters to recover the ball when it went out of play.

Jackson stood up and used both hands to shove the player backwards, causing him to stumble.

Dundee United withdrew his season ticket for the rest of this campaign and his status will now be reviewed.'

I wonder if this has any implications for the Nsiala and Walton incident at The Valley:

Personally I hope so. But I don't know if you've seen the incident at Dundee United in question, but it really wasn't very pleasant at all.

I think the player got sent off too, if memory serves me right, which I think was incredibly harsh. He was chasing the ball out of play and managed to swerve to avoid clattering the ball boy and his momentum took him to the fence.

The Dundee United fan is an absolute idiot, but so we're the "fans" around him too. One was throwing things at the player too etc.

Poll: Lambert goes, would you prefer an ex-Town connection replacement or not?
