A decent and responsible Government relies on honesty, integrity and mutual respect - it is a matter of profound personal regret that I must leave Government as I no longer believe those values are being upheld.
One of them is a backwards hellhole forever looking enviously on at it's more enlightened neighbours to the the south and the other has Belfast as it's capital.
I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.
It has been a huge privilege and responsibility to serve as security minister. It shouldn’t take the resignation of dozens of colleagues, but for our country, and trust in our democracy, we must have a change of leadership. My letter to the PM: pic.twitter.com/V82wT5P2Ta
I thought toady Lewis would stick with BJ to the end. Interesting line from Helen Whately’s letter:
‘I would lixe to out on record my appreciation for all the dedicated and talented civil servants I have worked with while in Government’
That’s not right and under tory mantra not allowed. Reec Moggstick insect said they’re all a waste of space so she’ll be dragged off to the Tower for a bit of thought correction. Maybe first use of the molar crusher (see Shardlake books).

4 before 7:30am. The 50th overall. How many resignations does it take before Boris is forced out??
Enough is enough. This can’t go on.
The chaos in No10, the breakdown of Cabinet collective responsibility, the abandonment of the Ministerial code, the defence of impropriety & defiance of Parliament are all insults to the Conservatism I believe in and stand for: pic.twitter.com/7OO5fbzdPO

There’s some devastating lines in that little letter.
As was posted in another thread, there actually decent MPs on all sides of the House working behind the scenes. A lot of them. I’ve worked close enough for a few years to know this. But the best of them don’t tend to make high office, sadly. Image before substance seems to be the order of the day.

. @Simonhartmp It has been a privilege to work for Simon who did a great job as Sec of State for Wales. We should not be in the position of losing decent and hard working Ministers. I made clear last night that I will not take the role. pic.twitter.com/V3vNpc4eEs

I’m deeply saddened it has come to this, but the PM should step down given public and Parliamentary confidence has clearly gone, and given the importance of integrity in public life. I’m therefore stepping down as Minister for Tech and the Digital Economy now pic.twitter.com/iXyd7inBQP
