Tablet advice 14:22 - Nov 4 with 913 viewsbluelagos

Going traveling shortly - don't want to take a laptop - or rely on my phone apps - but do want to be able to access banking and/or some interwebbing on hotel wifis.

Phone worries me in case it's pinched...

Thinking the best solution is a cheap reliable tablet - would probably put a vpn on it so can access Uk sites easily.

Any simple, cheap recommendations?

I bought this mainly for digital newspapers and things like BBC I-player.

I've used it abroad with a VPN to watch the various UK channels, and I would highly recommend it. It's also highly rated.

I do my all my online banking on a computer.

But if you do online banking on a phone, I don't think this is any different. And I can't see why you can't download the apps.

It would, however, be advisable to get internet security and a VPN.

EDIT: it has the Play Store, and the Nationwide banking app is available.

Any idea if there’s a similar iOS version to sync with my apple laptop and phone, anyone?

Net sure I could get my head round reverting to android after about 6 years!

There are loads of refurbished ipads and ipad minis out there. Only thing to double check is when Apple stop supporting them.

Having tried a number of different tablets in the past, I'll always revert to iPads. They are not that expensive anymore and blackmarket and other such sites do good value refurb ones.
