In my local 5 a side league (Oxford) there's loads of Romanian teams. One is actually called FC Romania; wonder if they are fans haha (or players!). |  | | |

Pointless fact - the team I used to play for years ago also lost to Hoddesdon Town in the Vase. Wasn't 7-0 though! [Post edited 10 Sep 2018 10:06]

Romania had a very good football side from around 1984 to 1994. Northern Ireland somehow beat them home and away in the 1986 WC qualifiers to pip them to Mexico. The win in Bucharest as good a win as NI have ever had. 1990 they were very good, Rep of Ireland bored the world to death by taking them to penalties and winning.
Romania could have won the World Cup in '94, lost on penalties to Sweden in the quarter-finals when they should have won. Knocked out Argentina in the last 16, game of the tournament.
Hagi was one of the international greats.
They're nowhere near that standard today, mediocre side. |  |
