Except Rovers didn't even have to press us much, just keep their shape on the edge of their area. Some nice stuff getting to the edge of the box, and then a pause, some more intricate stuff and the odd dangerous ball in which was fairly easy to defend most of the time. Even the long Woolfenden ball out wide - which at least bypassed the 30 passes we'd normally take to get there - resulted in the same delay in getting a ball in. I thought we looked good at the start of the second half on Saturday when we played a lot more direct "percentage" football, picking up a few knock-downs and stretching Wednesday. Perhaps a change in style, or at least the willingness to mix it up, might help. We've got plenty of pace. | |
