Slum Britain. on 19:08 - May 16 with 1237 views | MattinLondon | If true then whoever votes for it should hang their weasel heads in shame. Any landlord that takes advantage of this is also an appalling human being. | ![](/images/avatars/8335.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |

Slum Britain. on 19:17 - May 16 with 1210 views | HARRY10 | "The rules would allow landlords to house asylum seekers for two years without obtaining a House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) licence, a standard requirement for any landlord renting to more than one household in a single property." So without there being checks there is no certainty that those being housed are actually 'naughty furrines'. The landlord can simply claim he thought the dozen or so migrant workers housed in his two bedroom terrace house were those self same naughty furriners. If anyone bothers to check.* !. How to solve the housing crise ? Remove legislation that stops overcrowding 2. How to solve the filthy rivers and seas ? Remove EU legislation that uholds certain standards of clean water £.How to get cheaper workers ? Remove EU protection on workesr rights and pay. Far from this government wanting migrants to be returned it is simply removing control so as to have a ready pool of cheap labour, while all the time blaming lazy Britons for not taking manual work and not producing enough children, or training to drive a lorry. Some malcontents might point out that it would be around 18 years for a child to join the labour market even if the parents started the process tonight. Have these malcontents not heard of children chimney sweeps, child factory workers ? No, I do not expect those days to return, but the mindset of those who would have this, is already in place. Leave the EU so protection and standards, for those who need it the most, can be removed. * one of the latest whines by NIMBYs is that the infrastructure/services will not cope with more housing in the area - rather falls flat with this | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |

Slum Britain. on 20:14 - May 16 with 1145 views | Pendejo | Nothing new here. Take a walk from Elephant and Castle along the Walworth Road toward Camberwell Green, next to M&S is an alleyway leading to flats that have been rented out 6 unknown (to each other) individuals to a room. Wife's friend lived like this for many years, sharing with 5 men, whilst working illegally. The flat above me right now is 3 beds, rented out for twice what I pay, and lived in by 2 families. | ![](/images/avatars/47.gif) |

What is new, is that councils will no longer have the piwer to intervene.....were they so minded. Wre illegal migrants to some how be removed from the country over night, much of the economy would quickly grind to a halt. | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |
Slum Britain. on 22:26 - May 16 with 1000 views | OldFart71 | How long before people are living under lorries or sleeping on the floor of a sweat shop and having a bowl of rice a day to live on ? Britain is slowly becoming a third world country. Roads and infrastructure a mess. To get a doctors appointment impossible. Where I live we have two permanent doctors servicing a vast area. You phone as soon as the practice opens at 8.30 and your in a queue of 30 people. When you get through you have to give the receptionist a description of your health problem they may then get a doctor to call you later in the day then if you do get an appointment at say 11 a.m. it may be 12.30 before you see the doctor. Presccriptions now take a minimum of three days to pick up. Not including weekends. Roads are full of potholes. I put in a claim for a broken spring due to hitting a pothole. 11 pages of a form to fill in, plus proof of car insurance, MOT, photo's of the pothole, a photo of the road and latitude/longitude and the direction of travel and why you think they are responsible. Adding insult to injury after receiving said claim 90 days before claim is decided, but due to the number of claims may be another 4 months on top of that. Car was off the road for a week, due to there being a Bank Holiday and £230 later. Is there really any sense in having a decent car in the UK ? | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) | Login to get fewer ads

Need to cut down the time it takes to deal with applications for asylum. The sooner they are dealt with the sooner they can contribute to society, working for a living and paying tax. It is what the majority want to do. | ![](/images/avatars/176.gif) |
