With the 2000/01 season still with a long way to go Town have released details of the season ticket Waiting List for next season. Last year Town turned away 9,000 supporters who applied for season tickets and even with the extra capacity the new South Stand will bring it looks likely that some fans will be disappointed.

The North Stand's development may also have a part to play in the ticket allocation. The club has said that North Stand season ticket holders may be moved to the South Stand should work be ongoing when the new season starts. However, the club plans to offer 3,000 new season tickets this year. Current season ticket holders will automatically get renewals as they have before.

The club are asking for a £20 returnable deposit from those wanting to join the List for the 3,000 extra tickets for next season and another 3,000 in nine to twelve months' time.

David Sheepshanks said of the Waiting List: "I would urge all supporters interested in season tickets to apply — even if you may not qualify for Category A or B [see below], then it will still be worthwhile registering to gain a position on the waiting list."

He continued: "The £20.00 fee is refundable at any time that someone wishes to withdraw however it enables us to gauge a more accurate picture of demand for future ground capacity by gaining commitment from the applicant. I must stress that while plans are being made no final decision has yet been made with regard to the North Stand which is subject to further design, planning and financial consideration. We are keen to see it built however the response to this Waiting List will be instrumental in our decision and the timing."

Here are the club's instructions on how you can join the List:

Category A — Club members participating in the match day ticket ballot

Category B — Other club members who are not already season ticket holders

Category C — All other applications including existing season ticket holders

Categories A and B will be sent coded application forms by first class post on 8th February. Completed applications will be logged on arrival at the club.

Category C application forms are available from the Ticket Office, World of Punch or the Official site from 8th February. Applications must be received by post or by hand. These will be logged with date of receipt on arrival at the club.

On 28th February 2001 all correctly completed application forms will be listed by category and date so all Category A applicants are first, Category B second and Category C third.

All applications received after 28th February 2001 will be treated equally with no further membership priorities given to applications received after this date. Thereafter they will only be logged according to the date of receipt.
