Williams Faces Surgery
Williams Faces Surgery
Thursday, 28th Sep 2006 11:06

Midfielder Gavin Williams will undergo a groin operation next week and will be out for around a month. The Welsh international has been suffering with the problem since pre-season.

Boss Jim Magilton told the club site: "Gavin has been sore with the injury for a while now and the specialists say that he now needs an operation.

"We have a two-week international break after Friday so we can take advantage of that and he will have surgery next week.

"He is suspended for the West Brom game anyway so at least he will miss far less games than he normally would.

"He's done great for us this season and we are hoping that he will be available for the game at Colchester, but we won't make a decision on that until we have a look at him in the morning."

Williams has made a fine start to the season despite his injury, becoming the early favourite for the Town player of the year awards.
