Garvan on Return

Midfielder Owen Garvan says he is in no hurry to return to Town's first team after his viral illness. The Irishman is now back working on his fitness at Bent Lane.

Garvan told the club site: "I have been doing some pilates-based exercises and am seeing the physio staff each day.

"It's obviously a frustrating time for me, but I've been told by the specialists that I have to take my recovery one day at a time.

"Some days I feel better than others, but I do feel that I am progressing and the physio staff have been great.

"I've not been given any targets to do this and that, it's just a case of one step at a time.

"I've also spoken to the manager and he has reassured me that I will be given as long as is needed to get back to full fitness."

Garvan missed much of pre-season with shingles and subsequently developed the post-viral syndrome which has so far prevented him playing any role in Town's season up to now.

Town chief executive Derek Bowden told TWTD late last week that the club are hopeful Garvan might be ready when Mark Noble's loan spell ends in November.
