Price Wins Third Cap
Price Wins Third Cap
Wednesday, 11th Oct 2006 22:40

Town keeper Lewis Price won his third senior Wales cap as John Toshack's side defeated Cyprus 3-1 in a Euro 2008 qualifier in Cardiff. The 22-year-old was making his first competitive international appearance.

Price had a fine game but had no chance with Ioannis Okkas's chip from the edge of the box, but by then Wales were already three goals up. The Welsh scorers were Jason Koumas, Robert Earnshaw and Craig Bellamy.

Meanwhile, Alan Lee was an unused sub as the Republic of Ireland drew 1-1 with the Czech Republic in Dublin.

And Town will continue to wait for the £200,000 due from Charlton when Darren Bent makes his competitive debut for England. The striker was once again left on the bench as Steve McClaren's side were defeated 2-0 in Croatia.
