Town Sign Agreement with Swedes
Town Sign Agreement with Swedes

Scandinavian sources are suggesting that Town are signing what is being termed a 'co-operating' agreement with Swedish team GIF Sundsvall. Town faced the Swedes on last season's pre-season tour and it seems an alliance grew from this.

The idea is that Town will send players to Sweden to gain experience of a competitive League. Earlier in the season it was suggested that Town might go into a partnership with Dutch side Heerenveen, although this went no further.

Of their deal with Town Giffarna's chairman Kjell Olofsson said in perhaps not the finest English: "They were impressed with the friendly event we had in 1999 and we have kept in touch. I absolutely hope for a recruit during this season already."

Town have a number of young players in need of a loan spell. Already Richard Logan is off at Cambridge, but Sean Friars, Neil Midgley, Justin Miller and others could certainly benefit from competitive games.

We've heard no comment from from Town as yet on this development.
