Cork City are reported to want £100,000 for midfielder George O'Callaghan. The former Port Vale man has been on trial with the Blues since September and Town are keen for him to join the squad in January.

Town boss Jim Magilton said last week that O'Callaghan had done enough to extend his stay at Portman Road, although we understand a loan until the end of the season is still in consideration with the 27-year-old set for talks later this week.

Magilton has around £1 million to spend on fees and player wages during the January transfer window. Gary Roberts's permanent move from Accrington Stanley is expected to cost £200,000 on top of the £50,000 loan fee already paid to the League Two club, while a defender, an experienced goalkeeper and a striker could all be brought in either on loan or on a permanent basis.
