Town's FA Cup third round opponents will finally be confirmed today when Bury's appeal against their expulsion is heard by the FA.

The League Two club were kicked out for fielding an ineligible player, handing Chester a home tie with the Blues a week on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Dutch right-back Marciano Bruma has revealed that he has already spent time on trial with the Blues, but has been asked to return in January so the Town management can watch him in match action. TWTD broke the news that the Sparta Rotterdam player was being looked at by the Blues on Christmas Eve.

Bruma was initially with Town a fortnight ago and watched the Blues' 1-0 victory over Leeds.

Elsewhere, Colchester have denied suggestions that they would play at Portman Road instead of Layer Road if they are promoted to the Premiership. The U's will seek dispensation to play at their run-down current home until their new ground is complete.
