Boss Jim Magilton has spoken about the booing of Matt Richards during Monday's 1-0 victory over Birmingham. Richards is the latest Town player to become a victim of the Portman Road boo boys.

Magilton told the club site: "It's not a concern to me or Richo. That sort of thing has been going on since time began. I can remember when I was a kid at Liverpool, Ronnie Whelan got loads of stick and for me he was the best player at the club.

"Richo is an important player in my squad and he's not let me down. I've seen him improve as he has gone on this season.

"Sometimes he picks the ball up in silly areas and gives it away but he's not hiding. He wants the ball and if he wants the ball in my team, he'll do OK for me.

"He has shown great character to force his way back into the side and he's got to keep on showing that. There is only one person who can win over the fans and that's Matt."
