Bowditch is Back
Bowditch is Back
Monday, 2nd Apr 2007 16:05

Striker Dean Bowditch will be back in action when the reserves take on Leyton Orient at Portman Road on Tuesday evening (KO 7pm). Bowditch has been out of action since before Christmas with a groin injury.

The former England U19 international was due to return to Brighton on loan in January but the spell was scuppered by the injury, which at one time looked like it would require surgery. However, three months' rest appears to have sorted the problem.

Bowditch is likely to make an appearance from the bench with Billy Clarke and Jordan Rhodes starting up front.

Also involved are full-backs Scott Barron and Sito, players who appear to be out of Jim Magilton's plans and who look likely to be on their way out of Portman Road in the summer. The duo will be out to impress any watching scouts.

Young defender Michael Synnott is back in action after chipping an ankle bone while away with the Republic of Ireland U21s last month. Synnott will be trying to secure his first professional contract during the remaining weeks of the season.

The likes of Rhodes, midfielders Jai Reason and Ed Upson and central defender Tommy Smith will be looking to impress boss Jim Magilton and win themselves a first team debut during 2006/07's last six matches.

Reserves: Barron, Bowditch, Clarke, Fenn, Leabon, Moore, Plummer, Reason, Rhodes, Robinson, Sito, Smith, Supple, Synnott, Tooms, Trotter, Upson.
