Leeds United have finally issued a statement regarding Saturday's pitch invasions and related crowd trouble. The now-League One side have contacted Town to apologise for the actions of a significant minority of their fans.

The statement reads: "The club has written to Ipswich Town to apologise to their supporters for the actions of a minority of our fans.

"The club have passed on CCTV footage to the West Yorkshire Police.

"The club will also review extensive footage of the invasion and anybody identified can expect serious repercussions."

Leeds also say they have received confirmation from the FA that disciplinary action will be taken against them. The Elland Road club have been given time to forward their observations regarding the afternoon's events to the FA.
