Boss Jim Magilton says he hopes to add his summer signings to his squad quickly, but admits that deals sometimes become drawn out. Magilton, who returns from holiday next week, is waiting on Blackburn's response to the Blues' latest offer for Franny Jeffers, believed to be £500,000.

The Town manager told the club site: "Franny is obviously our first target. We saw his quality in the short time he was here and he gave everyone a lift.

"We have other players on the radar as well and will look to move things forward, but there are so many factors that come into signing a player that it inevitably takes time."

Town start pre-season earlier than ever before on June 12th with the players initially training for two days a week, then three before getting into full-time work-outs.
