Midfielder George O'Callaghan is being linked with a move to Sheffield Wednesday by a national newspaper. The Irish midfielder, along with Matt Richards, is also claimed to be a target of Brighton, according to reports on the south coast.

O'Callaghan has made only five starts since joining the Blues for £70,000 from Cork City in January after a protracted negotiations with the Eircom League club.

The former Port Vale man has impressed during that time, but has never looked like sealing a regular start and the summer signing of Tommy Miller has made that seem even less likely.

Town are likely to achieve a fee in the region of £100,000 for the 27-year-old with a deal said to be on the cards prior to the closure of the transfer window on Friday.

O'Callaghan and Matt Richards are also being linked with Brighton and Hove Albion by the local Sussex press. Richards is out of Jim Magilton's plans and looks likely to move on, although a switch to a League One side might not appeal.

O'Callaghan is unlikely to consider a move to the Seagulls if there is truth in the Sheffield Wednesday link.

Richards, who would probably fetch around £100,000, has a contract with Town until June 2009, while O'Callaghan's deal is up in June 2008.

Town's only final week target appears to be Málaga central defender César Navas. Despite Spanish reports at the end of last week claiming a deal had been done, the Blues continue to wait for the Segunda División side's response to their undisclosed offer.
