As expected Town defender Fabian Wilnis has signed a new contract with Town. The player announced the deal via his own website (www.wilnis.co.uk) and it is as expected a 2½ year increase on his existing contract.

Fabian said: "I was delighted to sign a new 2½ year contract today with Ipswich Town."

The Dutch defender added: "It has been a great season and is probably the my best in my whole career. Ipswich is a great club, we have a great team of players and I believe I have contributed well to our success. George Burley has used the current players that got promotion last season and has added some good players to the team over the last few months."

Wilnis has also had good news on the family front lately with his wife Juliette expecting the couple's third child in 7 months time.
