Magilton Misses Training

Town midfielder Jim Magilton missed training with the Northern Ireland squad yesterday, but is expected to be fit for their game with Bulgaria on Wednesday.

Northern Ireland manager Sammy McIlroy said of Magilton: I've had a word with Jim and he didn't train. He has a bit of a thigh and hamstring problem and he just took it easy. He's had treatment from our physio Terry Hayes and he should be OK. I hope he will be able to train with the rest of the team when we arrive in Bulgaria."

Magilton captained the side in the 1-0 defeat to the Czech Republic at the weekend.

Meanwhile Hermann Hreidarsson has returned from international duty with Iceland with no ill effects. His side lost 2-1 to Bulgaria despite a first half goal from the Hermannator himself. Iceland are playing only the one game this week as they will play their game in Malta on April 25th.
