Norris Set to Finally Complete Move

Perhaps unsurprisingly, it's David Norris's name which features in most of this morning's newspaper reports involving Town. The entire media seems convinced that the Plymouth midfielder will finally move to Portman Road today, the final day of the transfer window.

The size of the fee is a matter of some dispute with claims of £1.8 million all the way up to £3 million. The local press in the South-West is reporting £2 million, which is price the Pilgrims were understood to have been after for the 26-year-old, probably with the addition on top-ups later along the line.

Derby keeper Stephen Bywater is also widely reported to be on his way to Town, having initially been mentioned in connection with the Blues by a national newspaper on their website on Wednesday evening.

The Rams are close to signing Roy Carroll from Rangers with Neil Alexander moving from Portman Road to Ibrox as his replacement, so the former West Ham man may well be on his way out of Pride Park.

Coventry's revived interest in Alan Lee is also picked up on in one or two places, while Gavin Williams is claimed to be interesting Plymouth, Bristol City and Cardiff City. The midfielder was left out of Tuesday's game with the Pilgrims and could be out of Jim Magilton's plans with several other midfielders having joined or being about to join the squad.

The Blues may also sign Crawley Town central defender Jamie Stevens before the end of the day. The 18-year-old spent the early part of the week on trial at Portman Road was reported to have impressed the Town management in his first few training sessions.
