Scotland and Spurr on Jim's Wish-List?
Scotland and Spurr on Jim's Wish-List?

Swansea City striker Jason Scotland and Sheffield Wednesday left-back Tommy Spurr are on Jim Magilton's wish-list, according to this morning's tabloids.

Scotland is said to be the player the Town manager will look to now that the David Nugent deal has broken down and Fulham have said David Healy is not available for loan.

Swansea are likely to be reluctant to allow the 29-year-old Trinidad and Tobago international to leave on loan at this crucial stage of the season as they push for the League One title. The Swans are currently eight points clear at the top of the table with Scotland their highest scorer with 22 goals.

Scotland, whose deal at the Liberty Stadium is up in the summer of 2009, joined Swansea from St Johnstone in the summer on a nominal fee after two years at McDiarmid Park. Prior to that, the 5ft 8in tall frontman was with Dundee United, having started his career with San Juan Jabloteh and Defence Force in his home country.

Nicknamed ‘Rocket', Scotland has won 28 caps with Trinidad and Tobago and was in their squad for the 2006 World Cup.

Spurr, 20, has established himself at left-back for the Owls over the last few seasons and has attracted the attention of a number of other clubs.

QPR were keen to sign the 6ft 1in tall Leeds-born defender during January but Wednesday turned down three offers, the highest believed to be in the region of £1 million. Spurr is contracted to the Owls until 2009.

Elsewhere, David Healy is once again claimed to be a target of the Blues as well as Hull City, despite Cottagers' boss Roy Hodgson making it clear that the Northern Irishman wasn't available for loan.

Reports in Crewe say Gary Roberts will rejoin the Railwaymen on loan later this week, his initial month having been curtailed by an achilles injury.
