Boss Jim Magilton says weekend reports linking West Ham and Birmingham with Danny Haynes illustrates the striker's progress. A tabloid newspaper linked the two clubs with £2 million moves for Haynes on Sunday, while Portsmouth, Everton and Wigan are now also claimed to be interested.

Magilton said: "If my players are being linked with Premiership clubs then it shows they are doing something right.

"Danny has done well for us this season and is progressing. He has added some extra qualities to his game and it shows that he is improving if he his being linked with Premiership clubs.”

Haynes is contracted to the Blues until 2010 and Town, with Marcus Evans's millions behind them, are under no pressure to sell.
