Liverpool Wanted May Date
Liverpool Wanted May Date
Thursday, 5th Apr 2001 15:52

It has emerged that not only did Liverpool try to get the Town game moved to April 25th, they also tried to get the game switched May 1st. The Merseysiders appear to have been so desperate to avoid Town on Tuesday that they were willing to move their fixture with Bradford.

They are due to play Bradford on May 1st, but wanted to play Town that day and move the Bradford to the week earlier. However, Town are playing Charlton in a Sky game on April 30th so that suggestion was as unacceptable as the previous idea of April 25th when Hermann Hreidarsson, Matt Holland and Martijn Reuser might all get international calls.

They seem a touch worried by us...

Town's mascot Bluey failed to turn up to the charity mascot race in Trafalgar Square. There has been no official explanation as to why, although there were rumours of a fetlock strain and a pulled hoof in training last week.

The South Stand has a second inspection tomorrow to check whether it is safe for fans for the Liverpool game next Tuesday. The stand had inspectors look at it and make recommendations earlier in the week and tomorrow they will check that these have been made.

We should have some photos of the stand with more seats added either later today or tomorrow morning.
