Striker Shefki Kuqi came through Thursday training with no ill effects and continues to be in contention for a role against Preston at Deepdale on Saturday. The Finnish international is on the way back after suffering a hamstring problem in the 2-1 derby victory over Norwich City.

Boss Jim Magilton said earlier today that Kuqi would come into consideration for a role at Preston if he was OK after training today and on Friday. The loanee from Crystal Palace will be assessed after tomorrow's training and again on Saturday morning before a final decision is made.

Kuqi looks likely to be a sub against the Lilywhites with Jon Walters and Pablo Couñago the expected starters.
