Jim Escapes Ban
Jim Escapes Ban

Boss Jim Magilton escaped a touchline ban at an FA disciplinary hearing this morning. Instead the Town manager has been handed a fine and a suspended two-match ban.

Club secretary Sally Webb told the club site: "We had a very fair hearing.

"The suspension on the touchline ban means that it will come into place if Jim faces another charge next season. If he goes through the year with no disciplinary action, then the ban will be wiped off in May 2009."

Magilton pleaded guilty to the charge of charged with using abusive and/or insulting words to referee Mick Jones during the game at Stoke in February. The official sent him to the stands after he complained about the home side's use of the multi-ball system.

Webb says the Blues will look to get the system banned: "Jim was very upset at the multi-ball system at Stoke and doesn't like the system in general.

"We will be asking the clubs at the Football League AGM to vote on scrapping the system."
