Brighton Could Still Move for Richards

New Brighton and Hove Albion boss Micky Adams says his club could still make a move for Matt Richards, who spent much of last season on loan at the Withdean Stadium. Former Albion manager Dean Wilkins was known to want to sign Richards permanently, but Adams taking over threw the possible move into doubt.

Adams says he has watched DVDs of Richards, former Blue Ian Westlake, currently with Leeds, and Charlton's Therry Racon, who were all on loan with the Seagulls last year, and has been impressed: "All three are good players and I have seen enough of them to realise they would be decent acquisitions to the squad.

"Don't rule anything out and don't rule anything in, but certainly I will be speaking to the board about them. The thing is they are other people's players, so it's not really what I want but what they want and their clubs want."

Last week, Town boss Jim Magilton included Richards, who has a year left on his deal with the Blues, amongst five players made available for transfer, while Championship clubs are believed to be interested in the former England U21 international.

Meanwhile, ex-Town midfielder Sammy Moore has been released by Stevenage Borough having joined the Blue Square Premier side in January on a free transfer.
