Haynes a Doubt for QPR Clash
Haynes a Doubt for QPR Clash

Town have revealed that Danny Haynes has emerged a doubt ahead of Saturday's home clash with QPR due to an abdominal injury sustained in a practice match this afternoon. Better news is that Ben Thatcher, out with a torn thigh muscle for a month, came through the game OK.

Physio Matt Byard told the club site: "Ben played in a practice match and came through fine.

"He is clear from the injury now and it's a case of getting match fit and that is only going to come with playing matches.

"Danny played in the same practice match and has reported an abdominal strain. He is obviously a concern for Saturday being so close to the QPR game but we will see how he is on Friday."

Canadian winger Jaime Peters is expected to be back in light training in a week's time as he recovers from a knee ligament injury.

Central defender Tommy Smith has had good news after seeing a specialist and could be back in training not long after Christmas, well ahead of his initial schedule. Smith, who is interviewed in the new issue of TWTD, broke an ankle in training a month ago.
