Section 6 is calling on supporters to once again join them in the quest to bring the noise back to Portman Road when Plymouth visit Suffolk at the weekend. The group were well represented at Saturday's FA Cup tie at Chelsea with the Daily Mail basing a column on one of their banners.

Section 6 is a new vocal fans' group aimed at providing consistency and impetus to Town's support by establishing an area where fans who want to sing all game, every game can group together and support each other while motivating others around to join in. You can read more about them here.

Matthew Thompson told TWTD that Section 6 were pleased with the way things went at the Sheffield Wednesday game, the match where they launched their initiative: "Due to the success of the Section 6 trial the idea will continue from now on. We shall continue to congregate in this area of the North Stand lower and sing to support the team.

”We would like to thank all the people that turned up and joined in but would also like to urge others around to join in. We have the potential to get the North lower singing again.

"Get behind the team and quit the moaning. Section 6, come and enjoy football again.”

Section 6 received their first national newspaper coverage at the weekend when the Daily Mail spotted their ‘Anti-Modern Football' banner and featured it in their Ash Wednesday column.

Matthew told TWTD what they dislike about the modern game: "To be honest, most of it. High ticket prices, high wages, the lack of terracing, TV (Sky/Setanta), the atmospheres, or lack of them.

"Diving, with a passion, the lack of commitment to clubs from players, over-the-top policing, ridiculous rules, such as fire proofing flags to deter people from bringing them. If there was a fire I doubt a banner would contribute too much.

"Also, families and more traditional fans don't mix well, especially at away games. A friend of mine got cautioned this week for chanting when we were leaving Fulham Broadway station. It's our view that football is one of the few times and places for such behaviour. I think that's covered a lot of it!”
