Boss Jim Magilton says Liam Trotter's trial at Scunthorpe does not mean his Town days are numbered. The Blues manager insists that the 20-year-old is still in his plans.

Magilton told the club site: "Scunthorpe asked us if Liam would go up there for a few days.

"I was happy for him to stay with us, but the lad was keen to go up there for a few days and we didn't want to stand in his way.

"He enjoyed his time at Grimsby and was playing games every week and that is what he needs, so if another loan opportunity comes up for him we would look at it.

"He is out of contract in the summer but that doesn't mean he hasn't got a future at this football club. He's still very much an Ipswich Town player."
