Jordan Rhodes's Brentford extended their lead at the top of League Two to four points with a 1-0 home victory over Bury on Saturday afternoon. The Town striker failed to score this week against one of his club's promotion rivals.

Chris Casement's Wycombe are also in the race for elevation to League One and the Northern Irish U21 international was in the side which secured a 0-0 draw at Morecambe.

In the Blue Square Premier, midfielder Jai Reason made his fourth appearance for Cambridge as they drew 1-1 at home to Crawley and continues to impress U's fans, while left-back Kurt Robinson was in the Rushden side which lost 1-0 at Mansfield.

Dan Harding was again left out of the Reading 16 and is yet to feature for the Royals' first team since making his half-season loan move to the Madejski Stadium. Liam Trotter was omitted from Scunthorpe's 16 for their 3-2 defeat at Leeds after making his debut for the Iron as a late sub against Southend earlier in the week.

Billy Clarke is currently back with the Blues after the end of his month with Northampton, but may return to the Cobblers for a further spell. Jaime Peters has returned from Gillingham after turning down the offer of a further month with the Gills.
