Town defender Alex Bruce is expected to be fit enough to face Coventry City in Town's final game of the season at Portman Road on Sunday (KO 1.15pm). The Irish international was subbed in the first half of Saturday's win at Cardiff with a dislocated thumb.

Physio Matt Byard told the club site: "The plan is for Alex to train normally this week. His thumb will be protected, but it's expected that he should be fit for selection for the weekend."

Skipper Gareth McAuley could also be in contention after missing out in recent weeks with the hamstring injury he suffered while away with Northern Ireland.

Meanwhile, Fabian Wilnis's final game as a professional player for Grays against Forest Green on Sunday could face an FA investigation after two bookmakers reported suspicious betting patterns on the match.

William Hill spokesman Graham Sharpe said: "We saw a most unusual betting pattern on this match involving a large number of requests for bets on Grays to be losing at half-time and winning at full-time.

"We closed our book and reported our actions to the relevant authorities.

"We have no intention of paying out, pending any potential enquiries which may be undertaken."
