Canadian international Jaime Peters says Roy Keane taking over at Town can only be a good thing for his career. Peters made his first start for the Blues since May 2007 at Cardiff on Saturday.

Peters, who has another year on his Town contract, told the club site: "I was worried about my future here because I was not playing and you are always concerned when you are not in the team.

"Two weeks ago I wasn't getting a look in, now I've played in the derby win and started in the first game under Roy Keane. That's football though. Things can change very quickly.

"Having someone like Roy Keane here as manager is great for any player. He has played at the biggest club in the world and won everything. You can only learn from being around him."

Peters, 21, says this isn't the first time he's rubbed shoulders with his new boss: "I went on trial to Manchester United four or five years ago.

"I was training with the reserves but we sat in the canteen area and had lunch at the same time as the first team players. I remember him, he won't remember me!"

Meanwhile, Portman Road hosts the Suffolk Premier Cup final this evening with Needham Market, featuring former Blue Kevin Horlock, taking on Lowestoft Town (KO 7pm). The Cobbold Stand is open from 6.30pm with admission costing £6 for adults and £3 for concessions.
