George Burley has said he is not after Feyenoord's Danish attacking midfielder Jon Dahl Tomasson. However, he did admit he was watching the Danish side playing in Copenhagen on Wednesday, so it does seem one Dane or other was interesting him. The Town boss, though said he was not going to take this interest any further at present.

Burley said: "It is a different name every day, but no, he is not one we are after. It was an enjoyable game and interesting for us, but we won't be taking anything any further at the moment. It is fairly quiet at the moment with a lot of people on holiday and we have not got anything concrete at the moment."

Earlier in the week Town had been linked with two other Danish international players, Marc Nygaard and Martin Jorgensen. George Burley denied any interest in Nygaard while Jorgensen is likely to command a fee of around £10 million - a price Town are highly unlikely to pay for one player.

Kieron Dyer's agent Jonathan Barnett says Italian clubs Juventus and Inter, as well as one Spanish club, are now the favourites to sign Kieron Dyer should he move from Newcastle. Manchester United are now thought not to be Dyer's summer destination.

Barnett said: "My indication is Newcastle want in excess of £20 million for him and nobody has offered that. I don't think Manchester United are favourites. There are other clubs ahead of them. two in Italy and one in Spain."

Newcastle have repeatedly said they want to keep the former Town player while Dyer himself is yet to be convinced of the club's ambition. Leeds have also been linked with a bid for Dyer.

If Dyer does move Town will get an undisclosed percentage of the profit that Newcastle make on him.

Meanwhile, the Ipswich-born midfielder will appear in court for his alleged speeding offence in April. Dyer was stopped while allegedly travelling at 104 mph in Chester-le-Street, near Newcastle.
