Supple Targeting Croke Park
Supple Targeting Croke Park
Wednesday, 16th Sep 2009 14:50

Prematurely-retired Town keeper Shane Supple is targeting reaching the very top in Gaelic football, having returned to Ireland’s native game since his move back to Dublin last month. Supple, who is with his local club St Brigid’s in the Irish capital at present, admits that playing at the top level is tempting.

The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) sports are all amateur but the 22-year-old says he could see himself making progress to the upper echelons: "With the GAA it's a social thing, but you can achieve a lot in that as well.

"I'd like to think I can play at a high level. If the opportunity came around to play for Dublin - who wouldn't want to play in front of 80,000 people at Croke Park?"

Yesterday, Supple revealed some of the reasons why he hung up his gloves in an interview with a national newspaper.
