Marshall Signs Three-Year Contract
Marshall Signs Three-Year Contract
Monday, 2nd Jul 2001 16:36

Andy Marshall has joined the Blues on a three-year deal. The former Norwich keeper was paraded in front of the press at Portman Road at 4pm today.

His transfer was a very poorly kept secret and he joins Town with Richard Wright still on Town's books, such is George Burley's confidence that Wright will leave for Arsenal.

Marshall has previously said: "I have to admit that there is a massive pull towards Ipswich. I have so much respect for George Burley and goalkeeper coach Malcolm Webster used to be my coach at Carrow Road.

"In many ways Malcolm's help and advice turned my career around. I know so many people at Ipswich and even trained there for a while last season.

"I've been to speak with George Burley and he understands that I've other people to speak to. He has put no pressure on me to make my mind up and I will weigh things up. But there is certainly such a big pull towards Ipswich and what they achieved last season has to be a huge factor."

More details as we have them.
