Town lost their second place in the table last night after a 3-1 away loss at Huddersfield. Town showed one change from Saturday, Tony Mowbray dropped out with a virus and Manu Thetis regained his position in the back three.

Town started brightly and David Johnson went close before Matt Holland hit home with the again excellent Naylor. Town continued to be the better side for the first half with Huddersfield's on song front duo of Clyde Wijnhard and Marcus Stewart very subdued.

The game changed, however, eight minutes before half-time when Huddersfield scored an equaliser through Jon Dyson after a Jamie Vincent corner was flicked on at the near post.

The second half was a different story from the first with Ipswich a shadow of the side they were in the first. Huddersfield took the lead just three minutes into the half and never looked back. Stewart and Wijnhard both looked the part and Vincent wide on the left gave our defence a hard time. It was his pass from the left which allowed Marcus Stewart to set up Chris Beech for the second Huddersfield goal.

On 57 Huddersfield added to their lead with an excellent goal from Marcus Stewart. The Blues were well and truly beaten and the result was never in doubt from there. Town went close through Richard Naylor late on after good work from Jonas Axeldal, but it was a very disappointing night for Ipswich as another side shows that this division is very, very tight this year.
