Scowcroft Deal Continues Saturday, 28th Jul 2001 09:22 Talks have continued between James Scowcroft and Leicester City. The deal won't be done quickly enough to allow him to play Norwich this afternoon, but there should be a conclusion early in the week. Apparently the hitch Peter Taylor referred to on Thursday was down to the clubs failing to agree a fee. Leicester wanted to pay £3 million for the 25-year-old, while Town insisted on £3.5 million, the price finally agreed upon. Tord Grip has once again praised Town, recommending the club to young English hopefuls. Earlier in the week Sven-Goran Eriksson's right-hand man said that both Marcus Stewart and Jermaine Wright were close to call-ups after he watched the friendly with FC Flora. Grip said of Town: "I think it is good for the younger players if they can go to a team like Charlton or Ipswich, where they might get more of a chance." Luke Young, formerly od Spurs, joined Charlton this week citing his lack of opportunities amongst the reasons for his move.
