Target Derry Set for QPR
Target Derry Set for QPR
Tuesday, 25th May 2010 09:55

Town target Shaun Derry is set to be reunited with his former Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock at QPR, according to reports in south London. Blues boss Roy Keane saw the 32-year-old as the ideal man to bring experience and know-how to his side.

However, it appears Derry, who is out of contract at the end of June, has instead opted to move from Selhurst Park to Loftus Road, along with former Blue Darren Ambrose, who is currently in talks with the Superhoops, and left-back Clint Hill. Derry also briefly played under Warnock at Sheffield United.

Keane is looking to add “four or five” players to his squad over the summer with experienced Championship campaigners in the Derry mould very much on his wish-list.

Spot on Mark. Ambrose has had a great season and at £750k I see no reason not to throw our hat into the ring. If he is happy to stick with Neil Warnock, I couldn't argue with that because they clearly work well together, but it seems daft not to ask the question.

RK will need to hit the ground running next season or some serious questions are going to be asked early on. His reputation has been seriously damaged over the last year and he cannot afford another rotten season. A summer of effective transfer activity would help a lot. No more excuses!

bennyblue: did you write this when you got back from the pub? Not really sure what your last ramblimg sentence means but assume it relates that those who dont agree with you views are not supporters of ITFC etc etc. Very balanced!!! And Vexorg you do not speak for me and I assure you I care very much about this club

Get peter wittingham in from Cardiff (43 games, 22 goals from midfield! Not to mention assists!)he played well in playoff final and surely at 25 is ideal for goals fr midfield and providing balls to wickham and other strikers!!

i think that we need a back up centre back as i feel tommy smith dosent cut up to it shaun derry would be great and a replacement that the team can have confidence playing with also a natural leader we dont have any dept in the defence and one bad injury to our centre backs could ruin our season
