Brentford Still Chasing Balkestein Wednesday, 16th Jun 2010 12:03 Brentford manager Andy Scott is set to meet with released Town defender Pim Balkestein in Holland next week as he looks to secure the permanent signing of the former Bees loanee. Balkestein, who was told he was surplus to requirements after two years with the Blues at the end of the season, is also interesting clubs in Holland, as TWTD reported in May. Scott said: "I will be flying out to speak to Pim next week, but he has had other offers from clubs on the continent, so we’re facing a bit of a battle to sign him." Balkestein is one of several Town players to have spent time on loan at Griffin Park in recent years, something which could continue in the new season with the likes of Tom Eastman, Billy Clark, Reggie Lambe, Jack Ainsley, Luke Hyam and others in line for short-term spells in the lower leagues to gain experience.
