George Burley has said that he thinks Richard Wright may have made the wrong move by joining Arsenal. The Town boss feels Wright might now have less of a chance of England recognition than if he had stayed at Portman Road for longer.

Burley: "Richard should have stayed for at least another season with us. He was going to be playing in the UEFA Cup, he was the automatic first choice and he was going to be in the England squad.

"Now it looks as though he will be number two to David Seaman at Arsenal. He's still developing.

"If he is not playing in the team at Arsenal it will interfere with his England chances and his development as a player.

"I told him that but he felt it was an offer he couldn't refuse. Only time will tell if he has been impetuous."
