Released defender David Wright has completed his move to Crystal Palace. The free agent has signed a two-year deal at Selhurst Park, having undergone a medical yesterday.

The 30-year-old, who had been with the Blues since January 2007, is former Blues boss George Burley’s first signing at Crystal Palace.

Sorry to see the lad go because he played very well for us in previous seasons but for some reason along with everyone else simply wasnt consistent enough. Anyway at least he went with big george at palace and not to the budgie boys down the a14.

Good luck David. The only player I was sad to see go. Still, time to move on. Can't agree with stupid comments such as: 'We do have a habit of releasing quality defenders'. Suggest the poster does his/her research. Unless they are referring to Pim. Then clearly very deluded.

not once last season did I think David Wright let us down, a disastrous decision by Keane.

Good luck to him.

Average player though at best. Jim replaced him with the German and Keano too so that show's Wright's limitations.

Haha, must admit I was thinking purely of Wayne Brown, his departure still annoys me, tho there was of course Hreidersson too, suppose that was inevitable

Bramble Scrambles? do me a favour, took him 5 years just to be not 'ah, still young and learning, he'll come good'

Good signing by a good manager ,but what does Burley know about right backs ?

Am sure Peters will do a much better job for us !!

Sad to see him go, all the best with Burley at Palace and I'm sure he'll get a great reception back at PR.

Soo George Burley has been in a job for a week and has already made his first signing, Roy Keane on the other promised 4 or 5 signing and has had since the end of last season and we still havent signed anybody.

I am a fan of Roy Keanes, but everyother club in the league seem to be signing players and we arent, this is the same story every transfer window and is starting to get very boring now.
