A young Town reserves side drew a friendly 1-1 at West Ham's Little Heath training ground on Saturday morning. Irish U19 international striker Ronan Murray netted Town's goal during the second half.

The Blues included Brazilian trialist Marcus Picciarelli in their line-up, the striker also having appeared in Town's friendly at Leiston.

After Murray had put Town in the lead following good build-up play, the Hammers scored an equaliser with just seconds remaining.

Meanwhile, in Ireland, an academy U15 side lost the final of the Umbro Galway Cup 2-1 to Aberdeen this afternoon.

Town: McLoughlin, Bennett, Dunbar, Carson, Eastman, McKeown, Clark, Cawley, Murray, Picciarelli (Lavery) and Griffiths (Brandon). Unused: Whight and Schrøder.

Hyam, Ainsley & Lambe look set to demonstrate once again the value of the academy. I hope ITFC never give up this tradition; rather, I hope we can develop it even more in the future.
